Hi, I’m Emma Dhesi, a Scottish author of contemporary fiction set in Scotland. My stories brim with suspense, secrets, and flawed yet resilient women. In 2019, I published my debut novel, The Day She Came Home. This emotionally complex story with its gripping twists struck a chord with readers and marked the beginning of my writing journey.

My novels dive deep into the lives of women facing immense challenges—some internal, others external. Each protagonist harbours a secret that threatens to unravel her carefully constructed life. I take joy in crafting narratives that explore resilience, redemption, and the extraordinary strength of ordinary people.
Living in Edinburgh, Scotland, I am constantly inspired by my surroundings. The city’s rich literary heritage, atmospheric streets, and the breathtaking landscapes of the nearby Scottish Lowlands often find their way into my stories. Scotland’s beauty and mystery provide a vivid backdrop to the suspenseful twists that keep readers turning the pages.
Beyond fiction, I expanded my repertoire in 2023 with the Amazon bestselling non-fiction book, Launch Pad: The Countdown to Writing Your Book. Designed for aspiring authors, it’s a practical guide filled with actionable steps, encouragement, and insights from my own writing journey. Helping other writers through this book has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.
